LONGVIEW - Lydia M. Streitt, 84, of Longview died July 16, 2006. The daughter of John and Wilhelmina (Gellner) Schaffer, she was born on Jan. 16, 1922, in Blackfoot, Idaho.

She attended school in Battleground until the 10th grade.

On Jan. 11, 1941, she married Nile G. Streitt in Vancouver. A housewife and mother, she and her husband lived in Vancouver, Longview, and often resided in Ocean Park.

Survivors include her husband Nile Streitt; daughter Carol (Keith) Neumann; son John (Sharon) Streitt; granddaughters Elizebeth Browne, Keri Fleming, Kimberly Hartman, Colleen Neumann; grandson Brian Neumann; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Darlene Fenton, preceded her in death.

A celebration of her life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 29 at the Fair Oaks Recreation Hall, 5404 NE 121st Avenue, Vancouver.
