ASTORIA - Mary Kimball, 93, passed away at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, Ore., on July 8, 2006, with her son-in-law and caregiver Blair Brady in attendance. She was born on March 7, 1913, in Indiana to Herbert and Anna Summers.

She grew up in Park Rapids, Minn., where she met her future husband Lawrence Uker. The couple was living in Madras, Ore., when he passed away in the 1960s. She then married her recently-widowed friend Harry Kimball in Grays River. Mr. Kimball died in the late 1990s as did her stepson Claude Kimball.

Survivors include her son Jerald Uker of Twin Falls, Idaho; daughter Bonnie Uker Brady of Pacifica, Calif., stepdaughters Darlene Kapron of Longview and Joyce Magnison of Naselle; stepson Ronnie Kimball of Bagly, Minn., along with many grandchildren.

Her remains will be interred in Madras, Ore., with her first husband as was her wish. There will be a celebration of her life at the Rosburg Hall from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 6. She did not want flowers, but rather a donation to the Rosburg Wednesday Senior Luncheon Group would be appreciated.
