Obituaries: Rosalie Walker

ASTORIA - Chinook resident Rosalie Walker, 66, died in Astoria, on Nov. 7, 2010. The daughter of Harry and Lena (Lumsden) Inman, she was born in Chehalis on July 12, 1944. She grew up in the Toledo area where she received her education.

On April 14, 1962, she married Robert S. Walker. The couple settled in Woodland. There she became a devoted wife, mother and homemaker; 20 years ago she moved to Chinook.

Mrs. Walker loved to visit family and friends. She also enjoyed watching hummingbirds that were frequent visitors to her yard. Road trips were a special treat and she dearly loved her canine companion, Missy.

Besides her husband of 48 years who resides at the family residence, survivors include a daughter, Melinda Makinson and spouse Lonnie of Kalama; sons, Bruce J. Walker and spouse Jessica of Seaview, and Rodney D. Walker and spouse Carol of Centralia; a brother, Vance Inman of Castle Rock; a sister Loretta Bohanas of Toledo; sisters-in-law, Jan Inman of Toledo and Faith Makinson of Kalama; grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, Trenton Makinson, Olivia Walker, Greg Graham, Carl Graham, Kylee Graham and Denise Nugen; and many other members of her extended family.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m., at Penttila's Chapel by The Sea in Long Beach with a reception following at the chapel. Graveside service will be Monday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m., at Fir Lawn Cemetery in Toledo. Her guest book is available at (www.penttilaschapel.com).
