OCEAN PARK - Parents and other guests at Ocean Park Elementary's Winter Holiday Concert were charmed by a performance of songs written or adapted by Mr. Walters, featuring local motifs.

The concert was performed by Ocean Park's kindergarten, first, second and third-grade classes. Songs touched upon everything from beachcombing to cranberries.

Here are some of the lyrics (thanks to Caroline Glenn):

An Ocean Park Winter Holiday

It's an Ocean Park winter holiday

There's a bite and a tingle in the air.

It's an Ocean Park winter holiday

With a smile and a jingle everywhere.

It's a time for family and for friends

It's a time for fun and glee.

It's a time that happiness never ends

It's a time for you and me.

It's an Ocean Park winter holiday

Let us join our voices and sing

It's an Ocean Park winter holiday

For the holiday gifts we bring

Come and join with us as we celebrate

As we lift our voices and say

It's an Ocean Park winter holiday!

I'm Dreaming of Some Cranberries

I'm dreaming of some cranberries,

The kind you get from Ocean Spray

They're so red and great,

here on my plate

Can't wait for Thanksgiving Day

I'm dreaming of some cranberries,

That come to me fresh from the bog.

May your yams and stuffing gleam bright,

As you dream of Thanksgiving tonight.

Jingle Beach

Dashing to the sand

In the weather damp and gray

On the beach we land

Searching all the way

We look high and low

Gazing for our prize

When we spy those fishing floats

What joy is in our eyes.

On the beach, on the beach

Looking for glass balls

Oh how we love beachcombing

It's fun for one and all.

On the beach, on the beach

Looking for glass balls

Oh how we love beachcombing

It's fun for one and all.

I like Thanksgiving

I like Thanksgiving

Gobble-Gobble, Gobble-Gobble

And I like to sing

Gobble-Gobble, Gobble-Gobble

The food is so neat

Gobble-Gobble, Gobble-Gobble

And I like to eat

GobbIe-GobbIe, GobbIe-GobbIe

I love the turkey

Gobble-Gobble, Gobble-Gobble

It's cooked just for me

Gobble-Gobble, Gobble-Gobble

And that is why I can say

That I love Thanksgiving Day

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble

Mr, Salisbury's Coming

Mr, Salibury's coming,

The oyster's getting fat.

Please save the seafood

From the old tomcat!

If you haven't got an oyster

A razor clam will do.

If you haven't got a razor clam

Then God bless you!

God bless you! Everyone,

God bless you!

If you haven't got a razor clam

Then God bless you!

God bless you! Everyone,

God bless you!

If you haven't got a razor clam

Then God bless you!

Crusty the Red Clawed Crab-deer

Crusty the red clawed crab-deer

Used to live in Willapa bay

And then a fisherman caught him

It was not his lucky day

All of the other crab-deer

Thought that it was such a shame

They'd never have poor Crusty

Joining in their crab-deer games

Then one cold December eve

We heard our cook say;

"Crusty with your claw so red,

You'll go well with garlic bread."

And then she dropped poor Crusty

Down into the boiling pot

We'll see you later Crusty

When you come out nice and hot!
