ILWACO — October is breast cancer awareness month. On Oct. 19 at 11 a.m., Ocean Beach Hospital, together with many community sponsors are presenting, “The Total Woman,” at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum.

This is an educational luncheon, and will feature a panel of speakers discussing women’s breast health. Panel guests include Dr. Ivan Law, hematology and oncology, Dr. Gerald Weaver, general surgeon, Joanne Skirving of “Beyond Toxins,” and Sharon Henefin of “Breast Friends.”

In addition, there will be many table-vendors for women’s interest, raffles and a special door prize: a beautiful, handcrafted quilt. This event was well received last year and attendees reported a desire to see the event become as popular and well attended as the annual Ocean Beach Hospital Go Red for Women luncheon in February.

If you are a breast cancer survivor and plan on attending, please call Geri Marcus at the number below so a special honorary item can be personalized with your name.

Tickets are available at the Ocean Beach Hospital Gift Shop or at the Ilwaco Heritage Museum or call Geri Marcus at 642-6405.
