PORTLAND - Christopher Reimann, one of the survivors of the Gearhart plane crash, was discharged Tuesday from the Oregon Burn Center at Legacy Emanuel Hospital and Health Center in Portland.

Christopher, 13, was seriously burned Aug. 4 when a plane crashed into the Gearhart vacation home where he was staying with his family, killing his sister Julia and four others.

His mother, Ruth Reimann, and 11-year-old sister, Sarah, are still in critical condition in the burn unit, but continue to improve, hospital officials said.

A spokesman said: "Christopher's family is thrilled at his progress and want to thank everyone at the Oregon Burn Center for the excellent care he has received. He looks forward to starting eighth grade in the fall at Catlin Gabel School.

"His quick healing has been a bright spot in what has been a nearly unbearable tragedy. His family mourns the loss of 10-year-old Julia Reimann and her two cousins, Hesam ("Sam") Farrar Masoudi, 12, and Grace Masoudi, 8, of Denver."
