OCEAN PARK - Officers from the Pacific County Narcotics Enforcement Team served another search warrant last week.

In the early morning hours of Nov. 24, Washington State Patrol Trooper Shane Madsen conducted a traffic stop in the Ocean Park area. Madsen contacted PACNET and a search warrant for the vehicle was served the same day. The narcotics team located and seized a substantial amount of narcotics believed to be methamphetamine. Packaging, scales and suspected marijuana were also seized.

The Wahkiakum K-9 unit assisted Madsen with the traffic stop.

The driver of the vehicle, Steven J. Edwards, 29, of Ocean Park, was arrested and booked at Pacific County Jail after a search revealed suspected narcotics paraphernalia, residue and a substantial amount of cash.

Edwards is being held for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and third-degree driving while license suspended.

"This is a good example of teamwork among the members of the task force," Pacific County Sheriff's Office Deputy Rich Byrd said. "Washington State Patrol officers have done an excellent job of developing investigations related to drug trafficking in Pacific County."

PACNET's drug tip line is 360-642-9459.
