SOUTH BEND - A man accused of twice burglarizing a home in the Oysterville area pleaded guilty to two counts of residential burglary in Pacific County Superior Court May 19. Judge Michael Sullivan sentenced Gary Starr, 20, of Bremerton, to 14 months in prison.

Starr and two minors allegedly broke into the residence in the 31400 block of Sandridge Road Jan. 19 and again on Feb. 25. The owners reported a TV, computer, three rings and a camera among the items taken from the residence.

The walls of the home were spray-painted and a century-old quilt was ruined. A sliding glass door was broken to gain entry both times.

A restitution hearing for Starr is set for August. A spokeswoman for the court said some of the items were returned to the victims, who said they were pleased with the fast response by Pacific County Sheriff's Office deputies to the reports of the crimes.
