LONG BEACH - It's a grand opening barbeque and you're invited! Come and meet Richard and Sonya Hughes and daughters, 9-year-old Melanie and 7-year-old Ashley, at the grand opening of Peninsula Automotive.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, Sept. 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and pop, plus a drawing for a free oil change for a year (offer applies to one vehicle) and a basket full of hair care products from Sonya's business, 41st St. Salon, located at the same address. Tom Spanbauer, former owner of Peninsula Automotive, will attend this grand opening event.

Richard, who trained for three years at Tri-Cities Community College, is a master-certified ASE in heavy-duty trucks, cars and special automotive areas. Richard has been in the automotive industry for 15 years, including the eight years that he worked with Tom prior to buying the business. As Richard says, "the time was just right to come back to the Peninsula and Tom was ready to sell."

As an authorized NAPA auto repair shop, they provide a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty with the use of NAPA parts at Peninsula Automotive.

Richard is building his business on his beliefs that quality service, quick turn-around and great prices are what his customers want. He uses the latest in computer technology to diagnose and repair everything from air conditioners to transmissions. Future plans include adding an RV repair facility and a 250 HP Dynometer.

Business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Peninsula Automotive accepts Visa, Master Card and Discover. You can reach Peninsula Automotive at 642-4524.
