Students at Ocean Beach Primary School learned important fire prevention safety messages last week as part of Fire Prevention Week. The students pictured here are from Miki Frace's PM kindergarten class. Special guests during the week included members of the Long Beach Fire Department (Nabiel Shawa, Troy Ramsey, Don Zuern, and David Glasson), Ilwaco Fire Department (Michelle Nielsen) and Pacific County Fire District #1 (Thomas O'Donohue, Randy Cook, David Allsup, Bob Haskin, Rob Waltemate) and pictured here (left to right) Jason Derrey, Will Green, Rodney Harrington and Bill Didion. The week's safety messages included "Exit Drills in the Home," "Know Your Address and When to Call 9-1-1," "Smoke Alarms" and "Burn Prevention." Besides the daily visits an all school assembly was held on Monday. Poster contest winners were announced and each student received a packet of fire prevention related materials designed to reinforce the week's safety messages.
