Long Beach Police DepartmentAug. 6 - At 10:58 p.m. a disorderly guest at a Long Beach motel confronted the desk manager and then left. Later he returned and said, "I'm not staying in this dump tonight."
At 11:18 p.m. a car prowl was interrupted in progress by the pickup owner, who had been sleeping in the back of the truck. The prowler made off with a wallet and between $500 and $700 in cash. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Aug. 7 - At 11:08 p.m. a man came to the Long Beach police office saying he was going to repossess a vehicle. The VIN revealed a different owner so the man was told to not repo that evening. After detecting the smell of intoxicants, the man was given a breathalyzer test and arrested for MIP.
Aug. 8 - At 7:51 p.m. an Ilwaco restaurant reported a dine and dash incident of $42.93. An officer later found the couple and arrested the male for theft.
Aug. 9 - At 10:53 a.m. a bicycle hit a parked truck, damaging the brake light. No injury was reported.
Aug. 9 continued - At 12:55 p.m. a female reported domestic violence from the night before. An arrest of a male subject followed.
At 3:34 p.m. someone put a lit cigarette on the window sill of the Long Beach post office and the building caught fire. The fire was put out before officers arrived.
At 4:33 p.m. a forged check was passed and the victim contacted.
Aug. 10 - At 4:35 p.m. a report of an assualt to a woman with two children, 12 and nine years of age was taken in Long Beach. At 6:15 p.m. the suspect was arrested in Ocean Park and charged with assualt and reckless endangerment.
Aug. 11 - At 1:23 a.m. an officer caught a male subject in the act of stealing a City of Ilwaco temporary traffic control sign.
At 9:58 a.m. a report of a neighbor shooting at a cat with a pellet gun was taken. The neighbor admitted shooting at the cat because it was destroying plants and making a mess on his vehicle. The officer told the neighbor not to shoot in the RV park again and told the reporting party to control his animals. The cat was not hit.
At 1:35 p.m. a report of suspects breaking in and living there was made. The owner was contacted and said she would see if anything had been taken the next time she is in town.
At 7:00 p.m. a disorderly person in the parking lot of a Nick's was aked to leave the property and was served a notice prohibiting entry.
At 10:04 p.m. a female reported a tall man looking in her front door. Officers were unable to locate a suspect and the woman was advised to make sure her doors and windows were locked.
At 10:50 p.m. a report of individuals climbing in and out of a condo's windows led to the owner escorting the individuals out of the building.
At 11:30 p.m. a six year old was reported missing. His parents said he had gone to walk the dog. About 30 minutes the child was found on the beach by an officer.
Aug. 12 - At 4:27 p.m. a subject had fallen and suffered a head injury. The subject refused medical treatment, but the officer said he would detain the person for community care taking, as the subject's injury was possibly life threatening.
