Long Beach Police Department On Sept. 27 at 4:22 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Spruce Street in Ilwaco for an alleged assault. After an initial investigation, a charge of fourth-degree assault will be sent to the prosecutor's office for a filing decision on Brandon D. McClelland, age 18, from Long Beach.
On Sept. 28 at 9:30 a.m., a two-car accident was reported in Ilwaco. According to the report it appears the parking brake on one vehicle was not fully engaged or failed and that vehicle rolled down a hill striking another vehicle.
At 3:15 p.m., Johnny A. Cothren, age 29, from Longview was cited for malicious mischief third-degree, after he allegedly broke a cell phone during a domestic incident.
On Sept. 29, a man wrote a $1,500 check to himself, deposited it at his bank and then withdrew the funds directly thereafter. The check was alleged to be written on a closed account. The case is under investigation.
On Oct. 2 at 2:18 p.m., complaints of the smell of marijuana coming from a storage unit were received. On Oct. 3 at 1:45 p.m., Simon, the drug dog, and an officer returned to the storage units for further investigation.
At 9 p.m., Facundo M. Hernandez, age 30, from Long Beach was booked into Pacific County Jail for driving under the influence of intoxicants and no valid operator's license without identification.
LBPD investigated a report of theft that allegedly occurred on Sept. 22, after two fraudulent checks were cashed at a local bank. A charge of first-degree theft was filed with the prosecutor's office on Nimy A. Becker, age 37, from Ocean Park.
On Oct. 4, a suspicious female was reported knocking on the doors at various homes and businesses in Long Beach, trying the knob to see if they were unlocked, and was generally "acting very strange" according to the caller.
On Oct. 5, harassment was reported in Ilwaco and then Long Beach, for a suspicious male in a vehicle.
On Oct. 7 at 9:52 a.m., Johnny A. Cothren, Jr., age 39, from Chinook was cited for first-degree criminal trespass and malicious mischief third-degree domestic assault.
On Oct. 9 at 5:38 p.m., Johnny A. Cothren, Jr., age 39, from Chinook was city for domestic violence fourth-degree assault.
At 11:18 p.m., Diana S. Lowell, age 61, from LaCenter, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants after she was seen driving head-on at an officer and then collided with a planter box causing the air bags in her vehicle to deploy. The vehicle was towed from the scene, and Lowell was transported to Pacific County Jail after being treated by Medix.

Outdoor Marijuana Grow SeizedOn Sept. 29, PACNET deputies located an active marijuana growing operation in the timber above Naselle. Citizen tips led to the discovery of the marijuana growing operation. PACNET deputies seized an estimated street value of $753,000 in marijuana plants.
According to Sheriff John Didion the vigilance of our citizens and the expertise of PACNET has resulted in the seizure of a large amount of marijuana plants in the Naselle area. Deputies will continue to pressure narcotics traffickers in our county as the teamwork between officers and citizens increases.

On Sept. 30, deputies responded to the Seaview area around 9:42 p.m., for a reported person doing damage to a vehicle. Deputies arrived and questioned witnesses who observed a male subject throwing a concrete block at a vehicle doing significant damage. Deputies arrested Joseph Bowyer, 42, of Long Beach and booked him into Pacific County Jail for malicious mischief first-degree.
On Oct. 1 at 6:25 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint at the 30100 block of "G" street in Ocean Park. After conducting an investigation deputies arrested Brad Suchy, age 38, of Ocean Park. Suchy was booked into Pacific County Jail for assault-two domestic violence.
On Oct. 3, at about 1:54 a.m., deputies responded to an ATV accident on a logging road about 10 miles NE of Naselle. The victim of the accident was deceased upon arrival and the case is currently under investigation. The victim was identified as a 47-year-man from Woodland.
