Long Beach Police DepartmentOn Friday, Feb. 15, officers were dispatched to Ilwaco High School for an assault. One student was transported by Medix to Ocean Beach Hospital for a medical evaluation. He was not admitted to the hospital and went home that afternoon. The suspect was charged with fourth-degree assault.

The administration at Ilwaco High School is taking a hard line on disruptive and assaultive behavior at the school, as well as with students who "promote" fighting as detailed in the Student Handbook available on their Web site. Sanctions may include expulsion from school as well as legal action through the Pacific County Juvenile Department.

Pacific County Sheriff's DepartmentOn Feb. 3 at 9:20 a.m., deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint in the area of 10500 block of SR 103. Deputies conducted an investigation and arrested Donald Pomerenke, 38, of Kelso and was booked into Pacific County Jail for domestic violence fourth-degree assault.

On Feb. 14 at 10:48 p.m., deputies responded to the 24600 block of "I" in Ocean Park for a single vehicle accident. Deputies made contact with the driver who was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Frank Carr, age 46, of Portland Ore., was arrested and booked into Pacific County Jail for driving under the influence of intoxicants and third-degree driving while license suspended.

On Dec. 15 at 3:08 a.m., deputies responded to a disorderly person at the 2400 block of 266th Place in Ocean Park. Deputies arrived and made contact with the person causing the disturbance. Deputies arrested Jeffrey Henderson, 48, of Ocean Park. While searching Henderson, deputies located a small amount of suspected marijuana on his person. Henderson was booked into Pacific County Jail for disorderly conduct and possession of less than 40 grams of Marijuana.

At 9:08 p.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on SR 103 at about milepost 6. When contacted by the deputy, the driver could not produce a valid license. Further attempts to confirm a license failed. Andres Solis-Morningstar, 29, of Long Beach was booked into Pacific County Jail for no valid operator's license without identification.

On Feb. 16 at 2:10 a.m., deputies responded to a domestic assault complaint at the 25800 block of "N" street in Ocean Park. They investigated and arrested Teresa Casteneda, 48, of Ocean Park and booked her into Pacific County Jail for domestic violence fourth-degree assault.

At 8:45 p.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near Bay Avenue in Ocean Park. When the deputy contacted the driver it was determined that the driver had a suspended license. The deputy arrested the driver, Dmitriy Bogatlo, 21, of Salem Ore. Bogatlo was booked into Pacific County Jail for driving while license suspended second-degree and also violation of a domestic violence protection order. It was discovered that the passenger in the vehicle was protected against contact from the driver.
