LONG BEACH and ILWACO - The Long Beach Police Department responded to the following calls from Dec. 21 to Jan. 2:
At 9:08 p.m. on Dec. 20 on Shoreview Drive, a 2-year-old child pulled a candle off a table and burnt her head. She was transported to Ocean Beach Hospital for treatment.
At 9:12 a.m. on Dec. 21, 13 bundles of maple hardwood flooring were stolen from 25th Street N.W.
On Dec. 22 at 11:20 a.m., a burglary to the concession stand at Stanley Field was reported. The suspects gained entry by cutting a padlock.
On Dec. 26 at 6:58 a.m., a two-month old baby died at Ocean Beach Hospital of unknown causes.
At 11:30 p.m., on Oregon Street, someone reported a trespasser had entered their residence without permission and left a coat on the couch and a chicken sandwich on the table.
Terrence J. Eager, 18, from Ilwaco was lodged at Pacific County Jail, Dec. 28 at 4:50 p.m., after being picked up on a misdemeanor warrant for no valid operating license.
At 6:13 p.m., in on 8th Street, two different people called in regarding a prowler, who was knocking on doors and asking for money.
On Dec. 29 at 3:03 a.m., an officer contacted a minor, Brach L. Buchanan, 18, from Chinook who was in a car parked at the Ilwaco park. After administering a breathalizer test, Buchanan was cited for minor in possession.
A domestic disturbance was reported on South Washington Street at 10:27 p.m. with at least three people involved. Officers received a second call from the same residence at 11:17 p.m. All parties had been drinking and there was not enough information to arrest anyone at the time of the calls. All parties were instructed that if further calls came in from this residence during the evening someone would go to jail.
Officers responded to a fight at a local motel. After sorting things out, no one involved wanted to press charges. However, when the officers ran a check on those involved, it was determined that one individual, Morgan Giesey, 23, had a full extradition warrant out of Tennessee. He was booked into Pacific County Jail awaiting extradition.
On Jan. 2, an assault was reported at Ilwaco High School. One student had been grabbed, hit, kicked and punched by another.
At 2:13 p.m., an officer was called to the 1600 block of North Boulevard where owners of property reported malicious mischief. A large hole, approximately 25-ft. by 10-ft., had been dug in their yard, several trees had been sawed and chopped down, and a tarp and hand tools were found at the scene. It appeared someone was attempting to build a shelter on the property.
