Political News: Pacific County EDC director meets with Biden and Murray

VANCOUVER -?Last week Cathy Russ, running for Pacific County commissioner for north county, position #3, received an invitation to be part of Senator Murray's rally in Vancouver with approximately 25 other individuals. Russ was extended a VIP invitation to meet with Vice President Joe Biden.

The meet and greet took place at Pearson Air Museum where the group was greeted by Murray, congressional candidate Denny Heck, Vice President Biden and others. After some political speeches, individuals were escorted to a private residence where they had the chance to meet one-on-one with Vice President Biden.

Russ said of the experience, "The working relationship I've established with Sen. Murray and her staff over the years led to this personal invitation. It was such a privilege and honor to be part of her rally and to have the opportunity to meet the vice president."

"We left Fort Vancouver after saying goodbye to the police, the Secret Service and the helicopter above," said Russ. "It was a very memorable day."

Russ and Lisa Ayers are in a hotly-contested race for county commissioner. Both candidates, well qualified, have been serving Pacific County in various ways for the last several years: Ayers as financial analyst for the county and Russ as executive director of the Economic Development Council.
