ILWACO - Ocean Park resident Ralph L. Lieser, 5l, died Nov. 17, 2004, in Ilwaco. Born March 12, 1953, in Vancouver, he was the son of Miles and Maradee (Gatchell) Lieser, descendants of pioneer Clark County families. He graduated from Hudson's Bay High School, attended dental technician school and graduated from Eastern Washington State University.

Following college he returned to Vancouver and became lead operator for the Vancouver Parks Department. While working in that capacity he developed a water filtration system for the city. Disability forced his retirement several years ago.

Eighteen months ago he moved to Ocean Park where he enjoyed life by the ocean. He was a member of both the Ocean Park Moose and Eagles lodges. He was an avid classic car fan and was very proud of his restored 1940 Ford. He also enjoyed sailing. A generous and giving soul, he enjoyed a network of friends and extended family.

He is survived by his father Miles Lieser of Vancouver; significant other Dee Dee Carlisle of Ocean Park; children Lucas Colcord of Vancouver and Courtney Colcord of Portland; and sister Maradee M. Ruff of Seattle. He was preceded in death by his mother.

At his request no service will be held. He was an organ donor. Final arrangements by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
