LONG BEACH - Thanks to the combined efforts of the Long Beach Volunteer Fire Department and the Pacific County Fire District No. 1 in Ocean Park, students at Ocean Beach Primary School gained a better knowledge of fire safety and had some fun while doing it.

Grand prize winners included; Arianna Wiegardt, Erin Shelton, McKenzie Sexton, Corbin Sutherland, Krista Glasson, Jose Juan Hernandez and Caleb Young, all of whom received a ride on the fire trucks and lunch at the Long Beach Fire Station.

Runners-up received sports balls as a prize, those students included; Taylor DiAmelio and Kouri Plato from the morning kindergarten classes; Anahi Juarez-Castaneda and Ahnna Neace of the afternoon kindergarten classes; Tyler Milligan, Isabelle Grotting and Brian Roman from the first-grade classes; MacKenzie Parker and Austin Woodby from the second-grade classes; Noelle McPhail from the first- and second-grade split class; and Grace McPhail, Jessica Keeley and Raven Rogers from the third-grade class entrants.
