On June 4, Pacific County Sheriffs deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on State Route 101 in the Raymond area. The vehicle was detained for a few minor traffic violations. Upon contacting the driver of the vehicle, deputies discovered that the driver was uninsured and his privileges to drive in the state of Washington were suspended.
Deputies identified the driver as Patrick Tiekamp, age 41, of Raymond. Tiekamp was placed under arrest by the deputies. Upon searching Tiekamps person incident to arrest, deputies discovered a container with a white crystal like substance inside of it. The substance was tested and presumed to be methamphetamine. Tiekamp was transported to the Pacific County Jail for booking on charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving while license suspended.
Also on June 4, a Pacific County Jail corrections officer requested assistance from Pacific County Sheriffs deputies regarding a narcotics complaint at the jail. Deputies responded to the jail and contacted the corrections officer. Deputies were advised that a subject identified as Robin Taylor, age 41, of Ocean Park arrived at the jail on his own recognizance to report for a court ordered sentence.
Deputies were advised that as standard procedure, Taylor was searched as well as his belongings before entry into the jail. Taylor was in possession of a backpack that was searched. The search revealed a baggy of green leafy vegetable matter that was found to be marijuana. Taylor was allowed into the jail to serve out his commitment and was also cited for possession of marijuana as well.
