PENINSULA - At 9:24 a.m., Oct. 1, sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a body in an upland area northeast of Benson Beach in Cape Disappointment State Park. A hiker discovered the body, which has not been identified. Clark said an autopsy was performed Tuesday morning. The body had apparently been in the area for several days, Clark said.
At about 2 a.m., Monday, Grays Harbor County 911 dispatch received a call of a shooting in Grayland, in Pacific County. An aid car was dispatched to the scene and transported a 76-year-old man to Harbor Community Hospital with a single gunshot wound to the stomach area, according to PCSO. As of 5 a.m., Monday, there was no report available of the man's condition. The case is under investigation by the Pacific County Sheriff's Office.
Daniel Brown, 43, of Long Beach, was arrested and booked into Pacific County Jail after a traffic stop by a Pacific County Sheriff's Office deputy on Pacific Highway at 2:30 p.m., Sept. 30. Brown was arrested on an oustanding warrant, possession of a dangerous weapon (a "throwing star") and second degree burglary, according to PCSO Chief Criminal Deputy Ron Clark, because of his alleged involvement in a burglary on Sept. 21.
