PENINSULA - Pacific County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a Naselle woman at 12:10 p.m. May 31 after they received a report of a theft at a Seaview business. According to PCSO Chief Criminal Deputy Ron Clark, after deputies investigated the report, they arrested Christina Wirkkala, 37.
She was booked at Pacific County Jail for first-degree theft, possession of less than 40 grams of marijuana and possession of suspected methamphetamine. An estimated $2,300 in cash was allegedly taken from the business over a period of time.
On June 1 at 11 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at an apartment at 201st and Pacific Highway. The suspect fled into the dunes and was taken into custody by deputies on the beach west of the residence. Jon Miller, 43, of Ocean Park was arrested and booked for first-degree burglary and second-degree malicious mischief. Substantial damage had been done to the residence, Clark said.
Also on June 1, at 5:02 p.m., deputies spotted a car that had been reported stolen earlier the same day. The car was traveling north on V Street at 229th. Deputies contacted the driver, confirmed that the car was the vehicle that had been stolen and arrested Matthew Pearson, 20, of Ocean Park. He was booked at Pacific County Jail for taking a motor vehicle without permission.
