LONG?BEACH - Come rain or come shine the game must go on - that goes for opening ceremonies too!

The Peninula Little League will hold their annual opening day ceremony at the Tapio Field next to the Long Beach Fire Hall this Saturday at 11 a.m. Players from all 10 local teams will be introduced to the crowd and have their team pictures taken. And even if the weather is unkind, they have a back-up plan.

"If it's raining we're lucky because we have the fire hall," said Terri Smith, a league organizer. " It's a little more crowded but we can still do it. It's a lot of fun to watch the kids play."

The players will also be selling raffle tickets to help support the league.
