NASELLE - The Washington State Department of Transportation on Jan. 2 lowered the speed limit to 45 mph east of Upper Naselle Road on SR 4 and south of Parpala Road on SR 401, as motorists enter the Naselle Area. The Washington State Patrol is enforcing the new designated speed limits.

The speed limit remains 40 mph through the community of Naselle.

The reduction was due in part to concerns raised by the community of Naselle. After reviewing a number of factors, including the multiple commercial and residential access points in the area and the need to better transition traffic entering the city, WSDOT traffic engineers decided to make the change.
