SANDRIDGE ROAD - The greenhouses at the farm are bulging with delicious organic produce!

The Peninsula's organic produce farm is celebrating spring's arrival with their produce. Deliveries of boxes of great fruit, local Jumpin Goat cheese, and organic produce to members of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program began last week. Families and individuals pay in advance for seven to 10 weeks of organic food and pick up their weekly box of goodies on Fridays. The CSA program is just one of hundreds across the nation that help to support local farmers. Green Angel Gardens has been producing local organic produce for four years now.

Green Angel Gardens Farm Store is also filled with delicious fruits and vegetables, all organic, from their own greenhouses and regional farms. Open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the self-serve farm store is a delightful change from the aisles at the grocery stores. At the farm store at 6807 Sandridge Road, the customer bags, weighs and pays for their items on the honor system. Occassionally Diana, the greenhouse angel, or Larkin, the owner, will be around to help out if needed.

Special orders of organic produce can be delivered for a modest charge. So if you have a herd of friends or relatives coming to the beach, feed them from your local organic farm store. Order at 642-4018. Celebrate spring, stop by your local organic farm and take a tour and take home some great spring salad mix and other fruits and veggies.
