Luke C. Johnson, Naselle High School graduate, received his bachelor's degree in social work from Arizona State University in a ceremony held Dec. 19 in Tempe, Ariz. Luke graduated with honors and plans to continue on to earn a master's degree in his field. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Johnson Jr. of Naselle.

David Unruh of Long Beach is listed on the 2003 fall semester dean's list at the University of Portland. Unruh is a junior majoring in biochemistry. Students need at least a 3.5 GPA to be listed.

Sheriann Wirkkala, a freshman, and Laura Ann Swanson, a sophomore, both from Naselle; and sophomore Devon Phelps from Long Beach were named to the Gonzaga University president's list for fall semester. Students must earn a GPA of 3.07 or better to be listed.

The National Honor Roll has recognized the following students as qualified for induction to the spring 2003 roll: Jed Campiche, Seaview; Adam Ellsworth, Chinook; Casey Grisham-Rice, Seaview; Tessah Hagen, Ocean Park; and Jia Rong, Long Beach. Only students with a "B" or better average are eligible.

Students named to the dean's list at the University of Washington for autumn quarter were: Andrea Jade Bell from Ilwaco; Eric Charles Hendrickson and Christopher Magnuson from Naselle. Students must earn a minimum of 3.5 GPA to be eligible for the list.

Abbie Colleen Smith of Naselle made the Seattle Pacific University 2003 autumn-quarter dean's list. Students must attain a 3.5 GPA or higher to be eligible.

Jon Fagerland of Long Beach was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Idaho. Students must attain a 3.3 GPA or higher to be eligible.
