LONG BEACH - From rat rods to rusty heaps to shiny beauties of the automotive world - all were on display Saturday afternoon in downtown Long Beach during the second annual Bare Bones Car Show, one of many weekend activities blessed by incredible summer weather. The event, which is not judged and does not charge an entry fee, was sponsored by the Eerie 8 Car Club and the Siren Boutique. Throughout the day many people made their way around the small field, checking out the classics, some of which are reflected in the polished hubcap pictured at right. Some in attendance were dressed in classic "greaser" style outfits, regardless of age. All were treated to live rockabilly music by The Flap Jacks and Shannon and the Cannons. Eerie 8 President Del Murray said the purpose of the show is to help bring visitors and business into the downtown area. The show takes place every year, the Saturday after the Fourth of July.
