50th Anniversary: Rex and Molly (Glisson) Woon

LONG BEACH - Rex and Molly (Glisson) Woon of Long Beach are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary this month. They were married on Feb. 5, 1953 at All Saints Church in Bath, England.

Rex and Molly moved to Canada in 1969 and then to Vancouver in 1974. They have owned property and lived on the Peninsula for 19 years. They managed the Swift Pines Apartment in Ilwaco for a number of years. Rex is on the PACE Committee and volunteers there, while Molly periodically volunteers reading with students.

Rex and Molly have three children: David of Ridgefield; Fae of Vancouver; and John of Azusa, Calif.; and six grandchildren. One of their grandchildren, Molly, graduated from Ilwaco High School and was an intern for the Chinook Observer.

On their anniversary the couple will be having cake with their 'coffee klatch' friends at the Cottage Bakery. Later this year they will travel to England and Malta to celebrate their anniversary and the 99th birthday of Molly's mother.
