OCEAN PARK - Theodore A. '`Ted" Hostetter, 82, died Dec. 2, 2004, at his Ocean Park residence. The son of John and Lena Hostetter, he was born Feb. 11, 1922 in Trenton, N.J.

At an early age he moved with his family to Redlands, Calif. He graduated from high school in Eagle Rock, Calif. For three and a half years during World War II, he served with the U.S. Coast Guard. Following his military service he settled in Oxnard, Calif., where he worked as a utility lineman for over 25 years. In 1992 he moved to Ocean Park where he and his wife Evelyn enjoyed retirement by the sea. She died in June 2001.

Survivors include sons, Ted W. Hostetter of Kelso and Dan L. Hostetter of Fullerton, Calif.; brothers, Bill Hostetter of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and Homer Hostetter of Monrovia, Calif.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m., at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore. Arrangements by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
