Vehicular homicide suspect under guard

An Elma man was arrested for vehicular homicide after this crash.

OLYMPIA - David Thompson, a 42-year-old male of Elma, is being closely guarded by Washington State Patrol troopers at St. Peters Hospital in Olympia. Thompson is the suspect driver being investigated by detectives from the WSP's Criminal Investigation Division for one count of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault.

On Jan. 10, Thompson was driving a 1985 Chevy S-10 pickup westbound on SR 12 near Blockhouse Road, in Grays Harbor County. Thompson left the roadway to the right striking a bicycle ridden by Charles Jenkins, 38-years-old of Elma. Jenkins sustained serious injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Thompson's pickup continued along the shoulder striking a telephone pole. Jo Ann Bollinger, 43-years-old, also from Elma, was the right front passenger in the pickup. Bollinger died at the scene as a result of the collision.
