OREGON — George Herbert Irons passed away at 53, on Oct. 21, 2015, at 1:15 a.m. at home in St. Helens, Ore. He was surrounded with love from his family at the time of his passing.
George was born April 30, 1962, to George Edward Irons and Betty Neely Irons, in Portland, Ore. He attended Roosevelt High School. He married Gloria Swaim, the love of his live, on July 3, 1995.
For the last 20 years, George worked at Columbia Community Mental Health doing quality assurance, a job that he loved. He was an avid fisherman and lover of all sports. He also was a handyman who was always happy to help those he loved with something that needed fixing. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. They always had the best time when they were together at the coast.
George is survived by his wife, Gloria; his children, Justin, Jordan and Jared; daughter-in-law Carli Jo; grandchildren, Aida Jo and Jaxon; his mother, Betty Rosier of Ocean Park and his sister, Neenah Tromley. He was preceded in death by his father, George Irons, and his stepfather, Merle Rosier.
A memorial service will be held on Nov. 14 at Meriwether Place, 1070 Columbia Blvd., St. Helens, Ore.
