RETSIL — Jack B. Allen, 85, died Dec. 14, 2011, in Retsil (near Port Orchard).

    He was born March 26, 1926, in Moscow, Idaho to Merle (Munden) Allen and Walter Allen. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Navy and served on the destroyer USS Cassin Young during World War II.

    He lived on the Peninsula for 10 years.

    He is survived by his ex-wife Carolyn, of Ocean Park; their daughter, Michelle Henry; two sons, C Jay Allen and Jack L. Allen, from a previous marriage; a sister, Marjorie Allen; nine grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Two brothers preceded him in death. He was buried Dec. 23, 2011, in Tahoma National Cemetery.
