ASTORIA Ocean Park resident Jason J. Beaty, 68, died in Astoria on Jan. 20, 2011, with his family at his side. The son of William and Pheba Beaty, he was born Oct. 30, 1942, in Alexandria, Ind. He attended high school and moved to the Peninsula 24 years ago.
For many years he was employed as a long haul truck driver for companies such as Prime Trucking, Action Carrier and Mitchell Brothers Motor Freight. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering on cars, helping others, and the quiet life on the Peninsula. He attended Family Worship Center in Ocean Park.
He is survived by his life partner and sweetheart, Barbara Palmer of Ocean Park; special friend, Patricia Haney of Ocean Park; daughters, Bobbi Nelson and husband Todd of Arizona, Billy Beaty of Arizona, and Heidi Ragan and husband Mike of Ocean Park; a sister, Kay Wells of Herrin, Ill.; grandchildren, Erica and Catiee Nelson and Mark Ragan; several nieces and nephews and other family members. His brothers, Clay and Gene Beaty, preceded him in death.
A celebration of his life memorial service will be held at the Family Worship Center in Ocean Park on Saturday, March 21, at a time to be announced later. His family acknowledges the generosity of all who assisted them with final expenses. His guest book is available at www.penttilaschapel.com.
