LONGVIEW Margaret Evalyn Glover, 59, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, in Longview. The daughter of Rosea Bell and Vernon Glover, she was born in San Angelo, Texas on Jan. 31, 1951. When her mother passed away, she and her brother were adopted by their aunt and uncle, Ethel and Hilliard Sanford.
She grew up in east Texas and graduated from Jasper High School.
In 1974 she met and married Thomas Joseph Strubelt Sr. In 1975 their daughter, Cherokee Cheyenne Strubelt was born and then a son, Thomas Joseph Strubelt Jr., was born in 1976. A few years later they divorced and she moved back to Jasper, Texas to care for her mother.
In 1987 she and Thomas Strubelt remarried and moved in Long Beach in November 1991. Here she was a homemaker, who enjoyed being with her family. She loved the beach and had a great fondness for owls. Her family says she had a heart of gold, and was dedicated to God, family and friends. If someone needed help she would do her best to help. She was liked by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was a special person who was greatly loved and will be missed.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cherokee and Chuck Reece; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Jr. and Denise Strubelt; nieces, Heather Magee, Holly Sanford; nephew, Duane Magee; grandchildren, Crystal Strubelt, Thomas J. Strubelt III, Mariah, Savanna and Samual Magee and Eian Reece; sister-in-law, Deborah Knight; as well as her adopted daughters, Rochelle Bencz and Toni Criteser. Her parents, husband, sister-in-law, Sharon Sanford, who died in 2008 and brother, Allen Sanford, who died in 2009, preceded her in death.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 22 at Grace Family Fellowship in Seaview. All friends and family are welcome.
