OCEAN PARK — Ocean Park resident Martin G. Jenkins, 75, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 12, 2015, at his Ocean Park residence after a long battle with cancer. Born April 15, 1940 in Teaneck, N.J., he was the son of Albert and Dorothy Jenkins.
Martin served in the U.S. Army with a short stint in South Korea. Following an honorable discharge he went to work for the FBI, in San Francisco, Calif., where he met his wife of 51 years, Janis. They raised three sons: Eric Martin Jenkins, Perry Albert Jenkins and Robert Wayne Jenkins.
Martin and Janis resided in the Surfside area since 2005 and he served on board of the Surfside Homeowners Association from 2009-12. An avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman, he enjoyed being with friends at deer camps, duck blinds and in boats.
He is survived by his wife, Janis; sons, Eric (Andrea) and Perry (Kristin); grandchildren Nichelle, Chloe, Millie, Cameron, Hunter and Remington. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert, on Nov. 3, 2012.
