OCEAN PARK — Pamella (Poole) Bussard passed away on June 21, 2019 in Ocean Park, after years of courageously battling with her health. She was comforted during her passing with her son, Michael and his fiancé, Hilary by her side.
Pam was born in 1947 to Bennie and Marie Poole. She grew up in northern California and later moved to Tooele, Utah with her parents. She married Walter (Wally) Bussard in 1973 and moved to Grantsville, Utah. After retirement, she and Wally traveled and then became snowbirds between Utah and Arizona. They moved to Washington where they lived their dream in the beauty of the area.
Pam was passionate about rug hooking and was a member of a local group of “Hookers.” She had exceptional talents in everything she did, but hooking was her first love, after her son, Mike. She had many friends in the hooking community and cherished them all, especially her dear friend, Jerre McDaneld who, along with her daughters, Colleen and Patty, spent much time with her during her last days.
Pam was preceded in death by her husband, Wally; parents, Bennie and Marie Poole; and son-in-law, Dwayne Wells. Losing her parents and husband was difficult for her. We are blessed to know that she is with them now.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Hilary) Bussard and her step-children: Terry Bussard (Maria), Tom (Ramona) Bussard, Tammy (Jerry) Lard, Theo (Wesley) Brown, and Teresa Wells, as well as 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; her brother, Jerry (Patty) Poole, her very special sister, Leila Heap, numerous nieces and nephews, and sister- and brother-in-law Jean Harlow and Martin Bussard and very good friends Benjie and Faye Rubal.
Pam was loved more than she knew and was a very big part of our lives, even from far away. We are all thankful for her and how she took care of Dad. She allowed him to know happiness and the joy of good food. She was patient with him, and with us. We know that she is now walking, head held high, with the Lord, and with Dad.
Living so far away, it was difficult for many of us to be there for her but Pam had a lot of support during her times of struggle. God had blessed her with Mike who took such good care of her and Dad, during the roughest of times. Also providing support and care were Hilary and Hilary’s kids, Dawson and Shelby.
Rest in Peace, Mom.
A private memorial will be planned for a later date.
