Roy Western

OCEAN PARK — Roy Calvin Western, aged 70, passed away at his home in Ocean Park, Washington, on July 10, 2019. Roy was born to William A. Western, Sr. and Evelyn M. Western, on Oct. 3, 1948 in Seattle, Washington.

Roy owned and operated Ultra Graphics Printing Company in Lynnwood, Washington from the late 1970s until the late 1990s.

In 1997, Roy retired and moved to Ocean Park.

While living in Ocean Park, he became a talented and widely published nature photographer. He featured local land and seascapes, as well as native bird and wildlife subjects in his work.

Roy had an uncanny ability to coax his subjects into revealing themselves. He left us an extraordinary library of his work.

Roy was known for his sense of humor, his intense political views, and his love for all animals.

Roy is survived by his brother Bill; sister Robin; nephews Mike and Dustin; and nieces Lana and Wendy; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
