LONG BEACH — Long Beach resident Robert W. Crump, 50, died June 11, 2011, at his family’s home. The son of Roland and Geraldine Crump, he was born June 14, 1960, in Ilwaco.

He attended high school in Port Angeles, then attended the Culinary Institute in Portland. He was a long haul operator for 10 years, traveling the country with his dog, Bam Bam. Most recently, he was the owner and operator of Edgerite Cutlery.

He always had a way with words and could make anyone feel at ease. He had a passion for life and loved people. Laughter and smiles were always plentiful when he was around; he loved like no other, and was a committed father and grandfather.

Survivors include his parents inLong Beach; a son, Rocky Crump; a daughter, Mandi Emrich; granddaughters, Zoe and Lanie; a grandson, Austyn; a brother, David R Crump; a sister, Diana Martinez-Crump; his brother-in-law, Rene Martinez, and many, many friends.

Contributions to help the family pay for the memorial service can be made in his name at Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, June 17 at Grace Family Fellowship in Seaview, with a potluck luncheon following at the church. 

Ocean View Cremation and Burial Service of Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
