Ronald “Ron” Ross

    ILWACO — Ronald “Ron” Ross, 76, of Long Beach, died Aug. 16, 2011, in Ilwaco. He was born May 10, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Erwin J. and Anne M. (Olson) Ross. The family moved to Seattle where he grew up and graduated from Lincoln High School. He then served in the military.

    He moved to the Peninsula in 1968. On April 21, 1978, he married Janet Darnell. She preceded him in death this past June.

    During his business career, Mr. Ross owned Obie’s Service Station, worked for the NAPA store and later Art’s Auto Parts. He was a member of the Elks and enjoyed all things sports.

    Survivors include his children, Mike Ross of Seattle, Bob Ross of Bremerton, Sue Iverson of Springfield, Ore., Jeff Ross of Florida and Jona Korzinski of Long Beach; a brother, Duane Ross of Arizona; a sister, Maryann Simmons of Seattle; and grandchildren, Greg Iverson of Chinook, Chuck Morris of Long Beach and Jon and Eric Ross of Bremerton.

    No formal services are planned. Arrangements entrusted to Penttila’s Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
