CHINOOK — Roy Henington died August 24, 2017 in Chinook, Wash. He moved back to the beach in 2016 to break the hold of addiction in the company of family. Born in Bremerton, Wash., Roy moved to the Long Beach Peninsula with his family at a young age. He attended Ilwaco High School and grade school in Ocean Park. Always known for a quick joke and fast cars, Roy had a big smile for everyone.
He moved to Puyallup, Wash., and in 1980 married the love of his life Catherine Bradley. In 1992, they were blessed with a daughter, Crystal. He worked many years at Manke Lumber Products as a mechanic and later a shop foreman. Years later, Roy would start his own diesel and heavy equipment repair shop in Roy, Wash.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Crystal Henington of California; his brother, Dale Henington and wife Jamie of Long Beach; sisters, Cheryl Weatherby and husband Brad of Ilwaco and Judy Wirkkala and husband Boyd of Nemah; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Roy was preceded in death by his wife Cathy; his mother Mary; and his sister Debbie.
