LONG BEACH — Sharon Calabrese Winterburn, 78, passed away peacefully on Sept. 5, 2015, in Long Beach. She was born Feb. 25, 1937, in Bellingham, Wash., to William and Florence (Macrea) Winterburn.
Sharon attended Bellingham Elementary and Bellingham High School. She met the love of her life, Jerry Calabrese, in 1964. They lived in Grandview, Wash., until 1989 when they retired to Long Beach. Sharon worked for the Edgewater Inn Motel for many years as a receptionist. She loved to do cross-stitch and made many beautiful pieces. She was also an avid reader and stamp collector.
Survivors include her brother, Doug Winterburn of Arizona; five daughters, Kim Burroughs of Bellingham, Kristi Hawley of Long Beach, Kelli McDonald of Sumas, Karen Stewart of Long Beach and Kathy Beard of Everett; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Jerry; her brothers, William Winterburn and Steven Winterburn, and a sister, Susan Shoemaker.
