PORTLAND — Thomas Eric Hawkey, 63, passed away suddenly on April 13, 2013, of a massive heart attack.

He was born on April 11, 1950, in Clayton, N.J.  He is survived by Shauna, his wife of 38 years; three sons, Nathaniel, Elliot and Nicholas, all of Portland; and a brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Scyretta Hawkey of Vancouver. He will be greatly missed by many relatives and friends.

He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his passion for hunting, fishing and camping and he also played a mean guitar. He was a self-employed auto mechanic at Hawkey’s Automotive for 30 years in Portland, and was the best in town.

There will be a memorial gathering in his honor from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., on May 19 in Portland, at Eugenio’s Restaurant, 3584 SE Division.
