Animal Shelter Report
Feeling lucky? Annual raffle this Saturday

Effie

Please join us at the shelter this Saturday for the open house and big drawing for our annual raffle. There will also be a wonderful 50 percent off all pets sale and a $75 “two-fer” for kittens at the “Falling for Kittens” sale.

The drawing for the raffle will take place at noon at the shelter Annex building, just west of the shelter building, 330 Second Street East in Long Beach. There will be four big prizes given away: Grand prize is $2,000 cash donated by Andersen’s Oceanside RV Park and Cottages; $500 in cash donated by Leadbetter Farms; a $250 gift card donated by Dennis Company, and four one-way destination open Southwest Airlines tickets and the week of Feb. 17, 2019 at the Grandview at Las Vegas.

Ticket holders need not be present to win, but winners must respond to call or email within 48 hours of the drawing to avoid losing prize.

“Effie” is just one of the great shelter animals just waiting for their “furever” homes that can be adopted this Saturday for 50 percent off the usual adoption fee.

She was brought to the shelter by a kind woman who found the pretty petite black bobtailed girl roaming on her father’s property. Effie has a hernia, which was repaired when she was spayed, and now she is doing fine.

Effie is a very sweet kitty who will serenade you with her gentle purr when you stop by her cage to say hello. She loves to be petted and to sit on laps, and is very affectionate.

Her tail is a cute little pompom, like a bunny tail.

We have some other wonderful adult kitties and kittens as well as a nice selection of dogs wanting homes, and 50 percent off is a very nice price. Kitten season is winding down, and soon kittens will not be available for adoption again until late spring or early summer.

Hope to see you and your family on Saturday!

Adoptions require approval of an adoption application. Applications are available at beachpets.com. Email the completed form to spchs330@gmail.com. Prospective adopters can also fill out an application at the shelter.

SPCHS Shelter is at 330 Second St. NE, Long Beach, WA 98631 (P.O. Box 101) 642-1180. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
