Animal Shelter Report:
Give lovable Wylie room to roam

The Reverend Richard Loop blessed Keleigh Schwartz's great Danes during an annual event held Saturday.

Wonderful Blessing of the Pets

We were blessed with great weather and a good turnout for the annual Blessing of the Pets at the shelter on Saturday. The Rev. Richard Loop kindly blessed the shelter animals first, and owned pets afterwards.

People and pets all seemed to be having a good time, and Reverend Loop blessed all critters great and small — from cats and dogs to horses. Thank you to Reverend Loop and all the SPCHS supporters who came and made this such a fun event.

Calling all hound lovers! We have a great walker coonhound up for adoption! Wylie is a coonhound mix who would make a wonderful companion for a coon-savvy adopter.

He is about 4 years old and a very handsome boy. True to hound form, he would be happiest having a home where he had some room to run.

Sadly, Wylie has been at the shelter for several weeks now. Even though our wonderful volunteers walk him on a regular basis, he is starting to look like he is going “stir crazy” when confined in his kennel.

He is good with most dogs, so if you have a dog and wonder if they will get along with Wylie, bring your dog on down to the shelter and they can go “meet and greet” in our interaction area.

Please, if you enjoy hounds, come and see Wylie. He needs your love badly. It is so hard to see him get more and more anxious the longer he stays at the shelter…

We would like to thank Virginia and Andrew Peterson for their recent generous donation of cat and dog food and supplies for the shelter pets. You guys rock!
