While visiting some friends and family in the Pacific Northwest, I was fortunate enough to come across the PAPA community play of “The Sound of Music.”

Much to my surprise, in a small theater within an old fort, I experienced one of the best performances I have ever seen! Maria was done very well, even with her sore throat she powered through. The children all performed very well and hit their marks wonderfully. But the best part of the show, by far, was the performance by Capt. Von Trapp!  This gentleman, Sam Burton, stole almost every scene! I was practically moved to tears when he performed “Edelweiss.”

Congratulations to this troop of strong actors and a special salute to the captain!
