I recently received a scam letter in the mail and want to let residents know about it. The letter I received was from a company in Las Vegas. It is very convincing stating you have just won $978,779.77.

I read it very carefully and there is no question that I had won the money. But you have to send them $23.49 for handling. I called the Washington attorney general's office and they said this is a scam and to shred the document.

I just wanted people to be aware of this. I am a senior citizen and feel many of our local citizens could be taken in on this scam. It appears very official, so beware. I checked it out through the Internet and could not locate such a company.
