Election time approaches. Democratic voters may be wondering what their role in the upcoming election will be. Here is a timeline of events:

Jan. 30: Ballots will be mailed to voters. Ballots will include candidates for the presidential nomination as well as candidates running for local offices. Your vote in local elections is important and will result in the selection of office holders. The results of the primary for Democratic presidential candidates, however, will not be used by the State Democratic Central Committee in the selection of delegates assigned to candidates. The state party will use the caucus results to forward delegates to the National Convention.
