I would like to announce that the Head Start school in Long Beach is sponsoring a spaghetti feed and silent auction to generate funds for the kids of Head Start to take a field trip to see the Lady Washington in May of this year and for future projects and field trips.

Head Start is a very good program that helps kids get ready for kindergarten by teaching math, spelling, speech, social skills and more.

The spaghetti feed and auction is on March 31 at the Peninsula Church Center. The auction opens at 4:30 p.m. and the dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. The dinner is $5 per person (children under six eat free), and includes salad, garlic bread, spaghetti, dessert and a beverage.

Tickets are on sale at All Season's KidStuff and Simplicity in Chinook, Doogers Seafood and Long Beach Golf in Long Beach and Azure Spa in Ilwaco. Tickets will also be sold at the door the night of the dinner.

All of the items for the auction have been donated from local businesses. There are more than $1,000 worth of gift certificates, free night stays at local hotels, cords of wood, more than $300 worth of Candle Lite products just to name a few. If your business would like to donate to our fundraiser please call Head Start at 642-5471 or me, Kandi Eros at 665-5148. One hundred percent of proceeds will go to Head Start and 100 percent of all help putting og the spaghetti feed and auction is volunteer help.

I hope to see as many people as possible come and help support our local Head Start.
