My name is Linda Palmer. My husband, David, and I own land in Ocean Park and will be retiring there in three or four years.

I just want you to know that I love reading Craig Sparks column in the Chinook Observer. He is truly concerned about the environment and the Peninsula's wildlife. He continues to press on as an outspoken environmentalist even though he has been ridiculed many times in the editorial section for his opinions. There are lots of us moving up there in the next few years that share his beliefs.

The Peninsula needs more outspoken people like Craig to protect the wildlife and educate the public. I read that the Audubon is forming a chapter in Pacific County. That means that there must be a lot of people there that are concerned with wildlife conservation. We just need to find each other.

Perhaps there could be a column in The Great Outdoors section for an environmental groups activities calender. It would help us newcomers.

I also appreciate Marsha Sparks wildlife pictures that appear in the Nature Notes column. She is very good. Together, they make a good team. Kudos to both of them.
