We need to thank a wonderful Washington State Patrol officer. We own two small dogs who wear collars when they're outside which connect with an underground "fence."
Recently we were both away from home for a few hours. Upon returning, everything was normal except our small garage door was closed and the dogs were inside. We leave it open so they have access to the outside as well as the inside. When we checked a message on our phone answering machine, it was from Officer Shane Madsen. He'd found one of our dogs sitting on the middle line of Sandridge Road several blocks from our home and, reading the information on the dog's collar, returned him to our garage and shut the door.
Thank you, Officer Madsen, for your kindness and compassion. We're sure our little Max was very confused and frightened. We have now increased the field and strength of the electric fence in the hope he won't be able to run through it again.
