Feb. 8 is a special date in the life of our community and particularly in the lives of our children in the local schools. They are the future of America who are in strong competition with students from all over the world - their future is in our hands that day with the YES vote for the Maintenance and Operation Levy (M&O).

You constantly hear, "I'm retired, I'm on fixed income, I'm old," etc., etc. So are we, but you must realize that our very lives are affected by these levies. Think of all the pitfalls and options out there for kids who don't have the challenge of school, under-education is costly.

Please be aware that this particular levy does not increase our taxes, but actually lowers them just a little bit.

In my immediate family we have put at least 28 people through various stages of education and still vote YES on all school levies.

I firmly believe the pathway to success and life is education. I ask you to please vote YES on Tuesday, Feb. 8.
