I would like to thank Jean Nitzel at The Picture Attic for the outstanding job she did matting our Long Beach kindergarten art! Her generosity and craftsmanship created an incredible atmosphere at our Long Beach Elementary Art Show. Because of you and the excitement from the parents, we were able to raise enough money to go on our Oregon Zoo field trip. You are one in a million!
All of us benefit from the growth of mental health awareness on the Peninsula, as seen in the May 18 NAMI Walk in Long Beach. We want to thank Jo Petersen and the Ilwaco High School students for printing our 2013 T-shirts; Willapa Behavioral Health and WellSpring for publicizing the event; Rosi and Don Sartwell for banners; Jim Lee and the Ocean Park Lions for help setting up on Saturday; and several dozen walkers who braved the elements with energy and smiles. We especially thank businesses who contributed prizes for our second annual raffle: Anitas Coastal Café, Azure Salon and Spa, Baileys Bakery and Café, Beach Batteries, The Candy Man, Chrome Dome, Corral Drive-In, Cottage Bakery, The Depot Restaurant, El Compadre Restaurant, 42d Street Café, Imperial Schooner Restaurant, Jacks Country Store, Artist Marlene Kent, Key Bank, Wild World Kites, Long Beach Thai, The Lost Roo, Oceanside Animal Clinic, Okies Thriftway, Old Towne Trading Post, Pacific Art and Office Supply, Peninsula Pharmacies, Planter Box, Shelburne Hotel, Sids Market, Stormin Normans, Time Enough Books, and Wind World Kites.
